The flowers of Cereus peruvianus monstrose typically bloom at night with large, white flowers that have a beautiful fragrance. The blooms are relatively short-lived, open in the evening, and remain open to the next day, but they are truly a sight to behold.
These cacti thrive in warm temperatures and low humidity. They will thrive in temperatures above 70 ºF. They are cold intolerant, hardy to 25 ºF, though it is advisable to wrap them with an old blanket when they are younger once night time temperatures consistently fall below 50 ºF.
